Epidemiology is the study of diseases in populations. The three main aims of epidemiology are: to describe disease patterns in human populations; to identify the causes of diseases (also known as etiology); to provide data essential for the management, evaluation and planning of services for the prevention, control and treatment of disease. Biostatistics is the branch of statistics related to medical and health applications. Biostatistics underpins the methodologies used in epidemiological investigations and research.This integrated programme designed by Faculty of Healthcare Administration, IGMPI is aimed at healthcare professionals who wish to consolidate their knowledge and skills and increase their understanding of the importance of epidemiology and statistics in public health today. The objective of this programme offered by Faculty of Healthcare Administration, IGMPI is to ensure biostatistics skills of professionals involved in the analysis of health data and to reinforce the basic knowledge of epidemiologic methods and its practical applications
