Description

Laboratory personnel should be familiar with and comprehend fundamental microscopy techniques and procedures. The purpose of this course is to examine the methods, steps, and techniques required for carrying out standard microscopic analyses of laboratory specimens. In addition to teaching laboratory personnel how to prepare smears for microscopy, this eLearning course will also cover how to prepare and evaluate the results of Gram stain, wet mount, potassium hydroxide (KOH), and India Ink techniques.

Topics to be covered

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Outline the steps of preparing a smear.

• Express the purpose of the Gram stain procedure.

• Identify the types of reagents used in the Gram stain procedure.

• Sequence the steps in the Gram stain procedure.

• Interpret the results seen in the bacterial cells, with the effects of the various reagents during the Gram stain procedure.

• Outline the steps of preparing a wet mount and interpret results.

• Describe the potassium hydroxide (KOH) procedure and its uses.

• Identify the steps and results obtained in the India ink procedure.

• Identify and resolve commonly encountered problems during routine microscopy procedures.

Eligibility Any Graduation/ B.tech/ B.Sc. in Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology/ B.Pharma/ or any other discipline. Diploma holders are eligible for our Executive Diploma, Industry Certificate, and Certificate Programmes. Programme Duration: Minimum duration to complete this programme is 7 day to Maximum 15 days (Cost may differ).
